61st Summer Show

Saturday 27th August 2005

Kew Green

Kew Village Green was live with the sound of music at the Show on August Bank Holiday Saturday. The clouds gathered threateningly but thankfully passed by, allowing the many visitors, exhibitors and stall-holders a wonderful day out.

There were numerous children's entries and a large number of photographic and arts and crafts exhibits. The outside stalls were well attended and varied, while Jazz a la Carte entertained the large crowd.

The photography classes proved very popular with a variety of subjects for both adults and children. As usual there was great interest in the many children's classes.

We greatly enjoyed seeing Lindsay and Bill Smith once again in Kew - plus the dogs - and were very pleased to have Lindsay presenting the prizes.

An unexpected award of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship was made on the day to David Collison for his long-standing work for KHS and other local activities. Congratulations, David.

Thank you to the Show Committee for their hard work, and to all KHS exhibitors and supporters for helping to make the Show such a success. We are very fortunate to have Ginny Conway (Show Secretary) - still living in Kew - her energy and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated. The many tasks before the Show are shared among the Committee members, but Ginny is always happy to take the main responsibility.
